Public speaking certainly does not come naturally to everyone. The idea of writing a special speech which has the perfect balance of heartfelt and entertaining can be incredibly daunting for many people and the thought of delivering the speech with a sense of confidence and style can be almost unthinkable for some - let alone the possibility of actually enjoying it!

As a professional theatre director - helping actors deliver monologues and speeches is my bread and butter. For many years I have also helped fathers-of-the-bride, grooms and brides (and many others!) write and deliver some of the most important speeches of their lives.

Since becoming an independent celebrant I have absolutely LOVED using my professional experience to help my clients write and deliver brilliant speeches of their own - and the confidence to stand up in front of all their friends and family and actually ENJOY IT!!

What’s included in my Speech Writing Workshop?

• One-to-one video call - We will discuss everything about the task at hand! We can speak about any worries you may have and I will work with you to instil confidence in your abilities and even a sense of excitement about the occasion. We can start brainstorming content ideas together and hone in on a tone and style and see what sort of structure starts to form.

• Speech Writing - The best speeches follow a structure that flows seamlessly from one section to another - like all great stories. Following our call, I will take all the elements and ideas we have spoken about and pull together a skeleton structure as a spring board for you to start writing your speech. You can share up to two drafts of your speech with me for edits and suggestions - whatever will help you!

• Rehearsal - You will not believe the amount of people who admit they NEVER rehearsed a speech out loud or in front of someone else (other than infront of a mirror) before their big moment!! Rehearsing a speech out loud allows you to hear what others will hear and is the best way to work out pacing and rhythm. this will will help ease any nerves and ensure you are more than ready to deliver your knock-out speech when the mic is handed to you. I will also use my theatre training to give you essential fail-safe tips and tricks to ensure you deliver your words like an absolute pro!
